My Review:
I love psychological thrillers and when this one was recommended by a few trusted book friends, I quickly added it. This was my first by this author and I look forward to reading more from her.
The characters were captivating and mysterious. The first chapter jumps right into the past story of Beth and her daughter Hannah (who we find out right away is quite worrisome-oh my). Hannah had me feeling very uncomfortable and some of her antics gave me chills. The two timelines of past and present had me scrambling to make connections between the characters and their unsettling state of affairs. You know when you keep wracking your brain with the question…..How are these two stories connected?
The present story line has Clara on the search for her boyfriend Luke, when he suddenly disappears. I loved all the clues the author threw in. I was right there with Clara piecing everything together (or not). She becomes a bit of a detective and soon starts wondering if she really knew Luke as well as she thought. The stories she is hearing about Luke just don’t ring true.
Filled with twists and dark secrets this one had me searching for answers. A solid read with a surprising end!
Book is now available!
Book Description:
When Clara’s boyfriend, Luke, disappears, everyone believes that he’s left her, but Clara thinks she knows the truth. Recent evidence suggests that Luke had a stalker, and Clara worries that he’s been kidnapped. Then Luke’s older sister, Emma, who vanished twenty years ago, suddenly reappears.
Emma wants to help Clara with her search for Luke, but she refuses to talk about what happened–even though it nearly destroyed her family when she vanished. And the deeper Clara digs into Luke’s mysterious disappearance, the more convinced she is that the two incidents are connected.

Great review, Holly. I love when two stories connect. Reading about Hannah made me think of Baby Teeth. I’m glad you enjoyed this one. 😊
