My Review…
When I first started the book I wasn’t sure what a “black comedy” was, I later learned that it means to make light of a sometime dark situation. It really worked well with the Zenka character in this book! She is Hungarian, snarky, and hilarious!
Zenka has some skeletons in her closet and she is certainly unpredictable and quite the firecracker (which I loved!)
She has made it her mission to protect London mob boss Jack. It comes to light that he has a son Nicholas, who has a heart of gold and is quite the weak link in the family. Zenka is determined to make Nicholas man up and become a proper mob boss son!
This had so many laugh out loud moments and kept me smiling and giggling along the way! Different and fresh! I can’t say I have ever read such a mix of dark humor before and I truly enjoyed the journey. I would like to meet Zenka in person (maybe) and just observe her…..from a distance!
This dark humor comedy is now available through Amazon! If you are looking for something that will “mix” it up! You need to pick up your copy!
Book Description…
Devious, ruthless, and loyal.
Zenka is a capricious Hungarian with a dark past.
When cranky London mob boss, Jack Murray, saves her life she vows to become his guardian angel – whether he likes it or not. Happily, she now has easy access to pistols, knives and shotguns.
Jack discovers he has a son, Nicholas, a male nurse with a heart of gold. Problem is, Nicholas is a wimp.
Zenka takes charges. Using her feminine wiles and gangland contacts, she will make Nicholas into the sort of son any self-respecting crime boss would be proud of. And she succeeds!
Nicholas transforms from pussycat to mad dog, falls in love with Zenka, and finds out where the bodies are buried – because he buries them. He’s learning fast that sometimes you have to kill, or be killed.
As his life becomes more terrifying, questions have to be asked:
How do you tell a mob boss you don’t want to be his son?
And is Zenka really who she says she is?
This definitely looks different. I love a good dark comedy, though!

Thank you, Holly for your wonderful review of Zenka. I am sorry I am responding so late but I have been in bed all day with a cold. I will be back in action tomorrow. That’s me – I’m back off to bed. x
