What I am reading this week…
I started Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng with my GR reading group. It is very well-written and I am especially intrigued by one of the characters! I am also reading Here and Gone by Haylen Beck and I am loving it so far! I’ve downloaded Robert Bryndza’s Cold Blood and I will be reading it as a stand-alone! I have heard raving reviews for the series and thought I would just jump in!
What I finished…
What I purchased and my NG/EW downloads…
Trevor Noah’s ‘Born a Crime” is the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to. It’s about his experience growing up biracial in apartheid South Africa. He narrates it himself and he’s phenomenal. He can do any accent. It’s touching, informative, and laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend it as an audiobook if you’re looking for one. He’s the host of The Daily Show. A very smart and funny guy.

It’s my favorite book so far of 2017. The first time a nonfiction book has ever taken the lead for me. 😁

I’m reading Cold Blood at the moment! The entire series is fabulous, Erika Foster is one of my favourite female fictional detectives!! But as for reading it as a standalone, you’ll be missing the backstories, I highly recommend you start at book one 🙂

I’m really looking forward to Little Fires Everywhere!
I slowly started making my way through the Erika Foster series since mid-summer and am loving it! I’m current reading book 3 then onto 4 so that I can read his newest release Cold Blood. It’s a terrific series, I hope you enjoy it!

I am currently listening to the audiobook for The Punch Escrow by Tal M Klein, read by Matthew Mercer (who is a popular voice actor, and the Dungeon Master for the web series Critical Role). It is an interesting sort of futuristic sci-fi tale following a smartass protagonist who has to outsmart the shadowy organization in control of teleportation, all while trying to get back to the woman he loves. Matt Mercer does an excellent job portraying all the different characters, which is something I love when it comes to audiobooks.

Thanks! I will check it out soon. I adore a greAt audio book and don’t get too many recommendations! I do enjoy futuristic novels.

I haven’t listened to very many audiobooks, mostly because I read much faster, and I don’t spend a lot of time in the car or anything. In the past I enjoyed the audiobook for The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, and Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

I read faster too, but I do spend time on the go! Night Circus sounds good and I have heard great things about Ready Player One!

The narrator for Night Circus did a rather good job with the characters, male and female, British and American. It was the first audiobook I listened to all the way through.
And Wil Wheaton is the narrator for RPO. Having a geek read a geeky book was just a rather nice experience, and with the RPO movie coming out next spring, now would be a great time to read the book.

I highly recommend the audiobook YOU by Caroline Kepnes, the narrator is the very best I’ve ever listened to and the book is fantastic as well! I’ve got Little Fires Everywhere on my library holds list so hopefully I get it soon:)

I think the narrator makes a HUGE difference Renee! What really bothers me is the “whiney” narrator LOL…..I am 65% on Little Fires and my mouth dropped so many times today at the cafe that I’m sure people were staring me down! So good so far!!

Ooh I may have to check that out on Audible when I’m done with The Mothers:)

I’m so glad you are loving Little Fires Everywhere! ❤ It was stunning! I need to read The Lake House too! I’ve had it forever as an audiobook lol. I just bought You as an audiobook, so I agree with Renee on that recommendation 😊 I’ve only had a chance to listen to a little but great narrator!

I can highly recommend the Erika Foster series! Dark Water is actually my least favorite of the bunch so far, but still very good. 🙂 And good to see you are enjoying Little Fires Everywhere!
